This ruby red Super Tuscan blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc presents intense purple hues and a powerful aromatic profile. The nose offers ripe plums, blackberries, and candied orange peel layered with dark chocolate, caramel, licorice, and sweet tobacco, mingled with violet and crushed white pepper. On the palate it is rich, sophisticated, and intense with supple, vibrant tannins and bright acidity anchoring flavors of dark red and black fruit, spices such as nutmeg and clove, cedar, mint, and a touch of minerality. The finish is long and persistent echoing tobacco, citrus peel, and oak, showing excellent harmony between fruit, structure, and oak. Best drinking begins around 2027 and extends well into the early 2040s.
